Thai Boxing/Muay Thai

Muay Thai or Thai Boxing originates from Southeast Asia where it is known in Thai as 'Muay Thai' literally translated as 'Thai Boxing', Cambodia as 'Pradal Sarey', in Myanmar as 'Lethwei', in Vietnam as 'Vo Tu Do' and in Malaysia as 'Tomoi'. This ancient fighting style is also known traditionally as 'The Science of Eight Limbs' as a trained Thai Boxer has the ability to execute strikes using 8 points of contact rather than the 2 points of contact (fists) in traditional English boxing. In modern times Muay Thai has become a popular competition sport.

Ju-Jitsu

This is an art that evolved in ancient Japan. It is an extremely effective and comprehensive fighting system that includes strikes, kicks, throws, locks, holds, strangles and nerve point attacks. A great all round self defence system.

Shiai-Jitsu

A sport version of Ju-Jitsu, developed to allow flat-out practice without sustaining serious injuries.

Sambo Wrestling

Russian Martial Arts

ROSS (the family name for Russian Martial Arts) developed from the unique combat styles found all over Russia. From its grappling influences in Southern Russia, the western boxing influences and its Eastern Martial Arts borders, ROSS came together as a highly effective military system developed by the Russians and only became publicised toward the end of the old Soviet regime.

Eskrima

Eskrima is the national sport of the philippines and features the use of various weapons together with kicking, punching, wrestling, grappling and ground fighting. Eskrima also teaches defence against weapons and greatly increases your manual dexterity.

M.M.A.

Mixed Martial Arts or MMA uses a combination of martial arts techniques including stand up fighting using strikes, punches and kicks, grappling techniques and ground fighting. This competition sport has its roots in 'no holds barred' fighting. In the modern sport of MMA specific rules apply as to which techniques can be used; this is to ensure fighters safety.
